Polystichum lemmonii: "This fern is a dead ringer that you are on serpentine or another ultramafic rock type. It is also unusual for its preference of growing in full sunlight in open rocky areas. The fronds are so geometrically pleasing to the eye. They always remind me of the little plastic Lego pine tree that would come with some Lego sets. The fronds are tough and even feel like plastic!
