[explorer.natureserve.org] Range, Habitat: Alternate name Cryptantha nevadensis var. rigida This plant occurs in the U.S. in Arizona, California, and Nevada (Kartesz 1999). It occurs in four counties in Arizona, one southern county in Nevada, and 14 counties in southern California (Kartesz 2003 draft). In California, it inhabits Creosote Bush Scrub, Joshua Tree Woodland, Valley grassland, Foothill Woodlands from 3000-6000 ft in San Joaquin Valley and borders, Santa Lucia Mountains, and the west Mojave desert (Munz 1973).
