[en.hortipedia.com] Etymology: Marcus Eugene Jones initially described Ericameria albida but the description did not meet the standards for valid publication. A valid description was later published by Asa Gray. In 1995 the plant was revised and reclassified by Loran Crittenden Anderson. (link added by Mary Ann Machi)
