| This is a list of species which are all low maintenance and hardy to seasonal mowing. Typically mowing should happen in late summer or fall, but if the ground is adequately firm (so as not to cause erosion or damage to soil structure) these plants can survive mowing at any time of the year and recover. Although, mower should be adjusted for a high mow (3 inches or so). Most of these species are moderately drought tolerant and aimed for flat areas or gentle slopes. The exception is Buttercups which is often found in seasonally boggy areas which contrasts to CA Fuchsia's need for adequate drainage. So don't combine these last two species in the same exact location :) For questions about this plant list, contact me at: Nikki@cal-sisters.com | |
