| This is a list I am developing in response to home owners wanting more guidance on what to plant in irrigated gardens around the home. I am listing native species that could be utilized in the Santa Cruz Mountains. These plants are suitable for irrigation once a week or less. Ideally keep all plants 5 ft or more from structures. These plants are a combination or delicate annuals which produce very little fuel and low growing easy to maintain perennials. Yarrow, CA Fuchsia, Wild Hollyhock/Checkerbloom, Chinese Houses, and Lupines can be cut to the ground in late summer/fall or whenever necessary and be unharmed.
