Mori Point
KEYWORDS:   spring wildflowers, coastal bluffs
ABOUT
Mori Point has beautiful coastal bluffs, great short day hikes, and spectacular carpets of spring wildflowers. We have it to enjoy today thanks to local conservation efforts. The National Park website says it nicely: ?For nearly two decades, various development proposals for the area were successfully opposed by Pacifica residents and environmental organizations. Thanks to their hard work and persistence, instead of becoming a condominium, hotel, convention center, or casino, the site remained an open, natural space that's home to coastal bluffs, coastal prairie, and riparian areas.? The ?Great Place? featured here includes the Mori Point section of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area, and the adjoining private land in ?The Quarry? to the south that is open to hikers.

WILDLIFE:   Mori Point is home to the endangered San Francisco Garter Snake and the threatened California Red-Legged Frog.
