[explorer.natureserve.org] Rarity: Claytonia peirsonii ssp. bernardinus is a perennial herb that occurs in southern California, U.S.A., and is endemic to the San Bernardino Mountains. There is a single known occurrence on the north slope of Bertha Ridge in the San Bernardino National Forest. Surveys are needed to review population size, document threats, and assess habitat condition. Threats and trends are unknown. (contributed by Mary Ann Machi)
