Ophioglossum californicum, a pteridophyte, is a fern (rhizomatous) that is native to California and is found only slightly beyond California borders, Baja California.
It is included in the CNPS Inventory of Rare and Endangered Plants on list 4.2 (limited distribution).   7th Edition  /  8th Edition
