Equisetum telmateia var. braunii, a pteridophyte, is a fern that is native to California and is also found elsewhere in North America and beyond.
Communities: Yellow Pine Forest, Foothill Woodland, Chaparral, Valley Grassland, (many plant communities), wetland-riparian
Habitat: streambanks [Walker]
Wetlands:Occurs almost always under natural conditions in wetlands [U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service.]
Elevation: between 0 and 4500 feet
