Narrow spiked Reedgrass, Thurber's Reed grass, northern reedgrass
Calamagrostis stricta ssp. inexpansa, a monocot, is a perennial herb (rhizomatous) that is native to California and is also found elsewhere in North America and beyond.
Communities: Freshwater Wetlands, Northern Coastal Scrub, Red Fir Forest, Lodgepole Forest, Subalpine Forest, wetland-riparian
Affinity to serpentine soil:   1.5 (weak indicator)   [Safford et al 2005]
Habitat: freshwater-marsh [Walker]
Wetlands:Usually occurs in wetlands, but occasionally found in non wetlands [U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service.]
Elevation: between 4500 and 11000 feet
Family: POACEAE
