Note about logging in with Internet Explorer 7/8:
The website is designed so that it requires a cookie on your browser for most searches. This cookie is set when you first login. After a month or so, the cookie expires. When you login again, a new cookie is set on your browser.

Under certain circumstances, Internet Explorer 7/8 will ignore the new cookie, and keep sending the old, expired one. This is likely to happen when

    1. there are links to Calflora in the Favorites list; and

    2. Preserve Favorites website data is checked.
When this setting is on, IE apparently keeps two copies of the Calflora cookie, the old one and the new one. When you login again, IE changes the new cookie, but continues to send the old, expired cookie back to the server. (From Microsoft: the feature; other views of the problem)

We are attempting to find a workaround for this problem.
Meanwhile, if you use IE 7/8 and are having trouble logging in, try this fix:

    1. Go to Tools / Internet Options / Browsing History / Delete...
When the Delete Browsing History panel comes up, uncheck Preserve Favorites website data at the top, and press the Cancel button.

    2. Go to Tools / Internet Options / Browsing History / Settings / View Files
    Look for a file named

    	cookie:YOURNAME@www.calflora

    Delete this file.

    3. Shut down the browser. Restart the browser, and try logging in again.

If you are still having trouble logging in, go to Tools / Internet Options / Browsing History / Delete... and delete all cookies. Most likely, you will only need to go through this procedure one time.
