Calflora Home GREAT PLACES
TO VIEW NATIVE PLANTS
Pinnacle Gulch
KEYWORDS:   North Coast, Coastal scrub, Sonoma Co. Regional Parks
ABOUT
This is one of the best Sonoma County parks. The trail follows a year-round creek, which flows into the beach. The creek ravine is thick with all kinds of native plants.

DIRECTIONS:   This skinny little park is cut out of the middle of a golf course / vacation home development. You need to drive through the development to get there, and there are basically no signs for it until you arrive at the trailhead parking lot.

TIPS FOR YOUR VISIT
  • Dogs on leashes are allowed.
  • The trail is mostly gentle, but there are steep stairs going down to the beach.
  • HISTORY:   From the Sonoma Co. Local Coastal Plan as of 2001:
... Development and dedication of a vertical accessway along Pinnacle Gulch was required as a permit condition for the Bodega Harbor Subdivision. The parking lot has been constructed and the trail is under construction. (http://www.sonoma-county.org/prmd/docs/lcp/full_lcp.pdf)
