The highest point in the California Coast Range geomorphic area, at 8'094 feet. This area is remote and can have snow into June, A 12-mile loop trail skirts around the peak for a nice day hike. It is so high even the flowers have fur, eg: the 'Blue star lily', 'Elegant Mariposa lily' or 'Beavertail grass" - Calochortus caeruleus
